Great Music, Sound Excellent
Sunday night, it was late but well worth the wait hope you come back soon, best band heard in a very long time.

From Linda C.
FUN!

From Charleston Okafor
The Cowboys have done it again!!!
By far Reggae Cowboys "Tell the Truth" is their best release, but they have not missed the mark on the last two releases either. Unless these guys couldn't get working visas to live and work in the US, I still wonder why they haven't moved to Nashville, TN. Their sound is so on the cutting edge that I truly believe that they're a far better representation of old Country and Western than Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and these other Rock star wannabe country singers nowadays.

From Tami B
Another great CD...a must have for your collection! Well done! The rhythms and guitar playing are intoxicating hope you can make it to the San Diego area sometime so I can see you live again!

From Jahkiya
The most authentic, original music in the world.
This CD is among the Cowboys best work yet. Its the most authentic music I've ever heard. Great writing and excellent production. Bird Bellony is definitely a rare bird. Can't wait for the world to hear it.

From Mountain Mama
Of course, nothing but the best from y'all! My heart is full with the passion and windy cries of soul, spunk, and that stuff called love. Thanks to my big brothers and exponential praises to Bird - great tunes, great gifts. Mary

From Crystal South Dakotaawesome
LOVE the new CD guys can't wait until you come back to South Dakota so I can see you sing them live its wicked Crystal

From Dino LaSalviaAnother great release by the Boys. Upbeat country reggae rock!
Yet another rockin release by the Reggae Cowboys. In the Mix starts it off and sets the tone for the whole CD. Mountain Mama, John Brown and Song of Praise are all trademark sounds of the Boys. Stone Ranger shows that he is the modern day Jimi Hendrix with The Winds of Mary. No other group out there has a sound quite like them, and Pony Xpress is a must for your collection.

From Brent Gudgeon

About 3 years ago the Reggae Cowboys played at the Sunfest In London Ontario, Canada and played a song which was really heavy....with a ton of great guitar solos in it and it sounded good enough to be a Led Zepplin tune. What the heck was it? I loved it!

From Richard Jackson

I found the concept of the RC's in Hoboken to be funny, actuallyquite humorous. Since New Jersey is only across the river, that is still close enough for me to attend.

In May, I traveled to England to see CREAM, so I need another good band to enjoy, even if I have to travel a few miles, or cross state lines.

From Radio Speljamr

Holy Crap! I just got back to my desk after listening to you at the M&T Plaza here in Buffalo, NY. What an incredible performance! And I am definitely going to pick up a couple of your CDs.

I am an independent music podcaster here in Buffalo, NY and I'd like to play some of your stuff on my show. Would you be interested in this?

From Jim M

Hey Mon,
I am disappointed that you guy are not playing this summer at the huge Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I saw you last year and just thought you were great, so did everyone else in the crowd. In fact, I bought two CD's , Tell the Truth and Rock Steady Rodeo. My wife and I just love them. Parties in the back yard, forget the Jimmy Buffet, put on the Reggae Cowboys!

Are you ever going to come to Chicago? There are some great Reggae Bars in Wriglyville? Hope to see ya play somewhere soon.

Be Cool and Lighten Up (my favorite song)!
Jim M.

From Bob:

Saw the Reggae Cowboys last weekend at the Great Woods Music Festival in rural Manitoba. (Two years ago they played at a free concert at Winnipeg's The Forks, and I assumed by now they would be huge. I still assume that it's only a matter of time.)

Do not hesitate to see this band. They were hanging around the beer garden, laughing and conversing and enjoying the earlier acts, relaxing before they closed the place down on Sunday night. I bought a copy of Stone Ranger, and got three of the four signatures: good-natured and a little bit sheepish at being asked for autographs. (And the CD was only $20. HMV wants 24 or 25 to order any of the disks for me. Plus tax.)

But the show! Blazing full speed into Night Riders, followed by Mr Hubble, and one rave up after another. Johnny B Goode, Rock Steady Rodeo, all the way to their encores, Hotel California and Lighten Up. Awesome, and ready for the arena. Go see them. Ask at every music store you visit which Reggae Cowboys disks they have. Request the songs from your local radio station, and act surprised when they ask, "Who?"

Spread the word.

Guys -
Seeing you at "Summerfest" on July 4, 2004 was one of the freshest and rewarding live experiences I have had in a long time. I am writing a review of your performance for the Grateful Dead fan message board "rec.music.gdead" on "Google Groups". Would you happen to have a setlist from that performance? I would love to add it to my review.

You may remember me, I am the gentleman in the Bob Dylan T-shirt who caught you (Stone Ranger and Click Masta Sync) after your performance as you were checking out the festival and exclaimed that you were "Fucking great!".

Thanks.

Good afternoon Cowboys!

I just wanted to drop a quick line to let you guys know how much I enjoyed your concert last week. When you come back to Alberta, we'd love to see you again, so we'll be keeping our eyes open for upcoming concerts.

I do have one complaint though...I only bought one of your cd's! I should have grabbed both. Anyways, I was wondering if I should get it from a record store or can I order it from you guys? When you have a moment or two just let me know.

Thank you for such a great evening!!! It was a ton of fun...

Hi. I was the guy in Dayton who could not dance but kept asking you to play "To Tell the Truth." (I call it the hip history lesson). Just wanted to say it was great to hear you guys live. You were terrific. The Sunday paper had a sentence or two about your performance. The reviewer said it was "blistering." I wish you guys the best and hope you get to keep doing what you are doing for as long as you want to do it. Your music makes people feel good.
Best wishes,

It was a great cover and I'd love to have your version of it to listen to. btw, thanks for making my 50th b-day a v. memorable. I bought "Let's Ride" and listen to it all the time. Great Show in Ellsworth

The cowboys really warmed up Ellsworth, Maine this weekend. I was dubious when my wife got tickets to such an odd sounding group; after an hour of pathetic preliminary acts I was wishing I had gone to the basketball game or watch the Williams sisters battle it out for the Australian Open crown. But about 2 minutes after the cowboys came on I knew I was in the right place after all. Simply put, some of the best reggae I have ever heard. The songs are great and Bird can really make the west come alive. What a great sound and what a big turn on for the town! Thanks and do come back.

Reggae Cowboys - Next Time Round?

I was in Ellsworth, Maine on Friday nite (January 24th) to watch the Reggae Cowboys perform. You guys were incredible! You were energetic and your music ROCKED the place!! I am very interested in getting a copy of your tour schedule. I would love to see you guys again!! It was cool to sit next to you guys in the booth table @ Denny's Restaurant after the show. You seem like really friendly people who enjoy what you do. Thank you for the opportunity to hear you guys perform. You deserve many, many applauses!!

Please send me your tour schedule and any other info..........

From Steve Biega, November 20, 2002

Dear Reggae Cowboys:
It was great to see you guys (again) at the Bamboo a few weeks ago! I'm a big RC's fan and persuaded 3 friends to come out and see you guys for one last time at the old Bamboo Club. Marj, my friend, had seen the show before but Nedd and Annie took your show in for the first time. Suffice it to say, they had a great time with both up dancing and Nedd mesmerized by Bird's guitar playing, Clck Masta Sync's vocals and everbody else in the band.

Thanks to her and you guys for the autographed, Let's Ride CD. As it is, I've got all your CD's and I'm always pleased to support the band anyway I can. As I mentioned to Beth (I hope I remembered her name right), I'm an active RC Ambassador myself, always talkin' up the band to anyone who'll listen and always taking my RC's CD's with me on my travels (e.g. recently to Domincan Republic and Mallorca, Spain where it could be heard poolside and from my fifth floor balconey overlooking the Meditteranean)!

As for Let's Ride, I'm enjoying it and think the mix of cover tunes and original music was a good idea (reminds me of when I counselled friends of mine, Platinum Blonde, many years ago and suggested they do the same to get attention (they took my advice and mixed in "Police" tunes while playing at bars, University pubs etc.). The MP3 Reggae Rodeo video was a nice plus on the CD and looks good on my new computer (which coincidentally was purchased after my old system died a peaceful death. Good timing since I wouldn't have been able to see it with the old PC).

Keep rockin' and good luck with your new album sales.

Reggae Cowboys in Hamilton - October 11, 2002

as posted on Jamaican.com:

They played many of their own songs which were excellent along with many cover tunes with a reggae flare.

Stone their lead guitarist was simply amazing.

Along with the great vocals and charisma shown by the lead singer Sync made for a really impressive show. The band is extremely tight and versitile.Quality all the way through each set.

We had the opportunity to sit and talk with them between sets. Not only can
they play but they are down to earth.. just a great bunch of guys.

I really liked their new song "Concrete Jungle" but I was totally blown away
by their version of "Little Wing" (Jimi Hendrix) Again...Stone's work on this
song was inspirational to say the least .

Do your self a favour and go see them. You won't be disappointed.
They have a site if you would like to check them out Reggae Cowboys

Greetings, Nancy, and Reggae Cowboys !

Well, they did it again....Another awesome show at Venice Cafe, Sept 28th. This band is just the best. Incredible... Tight band, and high energy!!!. As you know, our friends, Bill & Kathy drove up from Louisanna again, and we all had the best time. They said they'll do it again, too. We bought the new CD, and we got T shirts !!! ( I got 5 ) One thing we really like is how friendly the boys are to their fans. They make us feel like friends of theirs, and are easy to connect with. As far as I'm concerned, they have it ALL. Real super stars. Next time they roll into St. Louis, we'll all be there.....dancing wildly once more.... ( Sista was the one jumping up and down...) Send my love to all, and keep up the good work.....YEAH !!! WE LOVE YOU, REGGAE COWBOYS !!!!!!!!!!

From Christopher L. Whitaker, September 29, 2002:

Subject: AWESOME GROUP__AWESOME SOUND

Just wanted to let ya'll know what a great show it was at Venice Cafe in
St. Louis. Every time I see ya'll you blow me away. Keep the music
coming and it would be great if you could get a show in North Louisiana,
above the Alexandria line, maybe in Shreveport. It is great to go to
St. Louis and see you real upclose and personal, but I wish you could
share your genius with North Louisiana as well. The people around here
have no idea what they are missing. I love the way ya'll are so genuine
with your fans and always willing to give us time. This time instead of
flying we drove (648 miles) one way, and it was truly worth the drive.

Renegade World Music Festival At Mount Shasta

The only act I was fully into was the Reggae Cowboys, who had a unique rock
and roll style to the reggae. They reminded me of Gibby, he is an
accomplished lead guitar player for reggae in Jamaica. His style is
reminiscent of Jimmy Hendricks, Al Anderson, and HR from Bad Brains. They
are high energy reggae, and their cowboy costumes reminded me of the village
people. It was my first time hearing them.

From Anthony Postman, September 27, 2002

Several folks I’d met hadn’t heard The Reggae Cowboys before, but were won over. The Cowboys bring the guitar to the forefront like few (if any) reggae bands. Click Masta Synch lays down the rhythm while Stone Ranger tears up the leads, lending a serious rock backbone to their reggae vibe!

New CD

When will it be released?? I heard an interview on CBC earlier this year. I was in my car at the time & almost had to stop the car just to listen. I had never heard of your band before. Your music is so different. I have purchased one CD & am jumping from foot to foot waiting for the new one. I am forcing all my friends to listen to the CD. It is such fun music. We go camping to Mexico every year, and the only entertainment we have is a CD player that runs off solar energy. I can hardly wait to play your music on the desert. It will certainly liven up the campsite. Just need to know when we can order the newest CD. Thanks

From Rose and Johnny, July 12, 2002

Hello Nancy. Thanks for the update. We finally got to see the band at the Club Helsinki in Great Barrington, Mass. They were fabulous and such nice guys. We were thrilled. Do they plan to play there again? We have also been told by friends that they used to play in Portland, Maine. Are they planning any dates there? We are in Gloucester, Mass (north of Boston) and most places they play are so far away. We might have to go to Toronto next time they play there since we are dying to see them again. They told us when we saw them that they were putting out a new CD in June. When does it come out and when it does could you let us know. Thanks again for the updates.

Sincerely,

What album is this?", and of course we tell them. So thanks for providing the awesome kneading riddims and I'm anxiously waiting to buy the next release...next time you're in town, if you happen to get a box full of tasty baked stuff from a local bakery, you'll know why!

Saw Reggae Cowboys, again, and still am not tired of their music. They were in Greenville, SC on Thurs. oct. 4. Terrific show. We talked to them and had them sign pictures we took when we lived in Buffalo, NY. These guys are so great and soo good.

Would like to know about their upcoming date, sun. oct. l4 at Little Turniptown Overnight Music Jam. Can you give us more info on this. Is it at a club or exactly where is it being held. Is there a charge (not that we mind) cause we love these guys and how long they will be playing. Would appreciate any info you can give us. Thanks.

Hi peeps,

Well, I am probably behind the times as I dont know when you did Reggae Rodeo, but I have to say congratulations, Its absolutely fantastic, and after hearing that , I just had to hear more of your music, and found that, just as pleasing to the ear, I have a question though, Why havent I heard you over here in the Uk??, If I had not come across your song on AudioGalaxy, I wouldnt have known such good music was out there, I am off tomorrow, to pester my local music shop to make sure they have your discs in, and also make a few requests on my local radio station, to see if they have heard of yourselves, many ,many people here will love your music when they hear it, I hope I will hear a lot more of your music in the future, you have certainly got a rhythem that is individual, catchy, and most definately pleasing, keep up the good work, I hope it brings the rewards to yourselves you so much deserve, Thanks, Brian.

From Jennifer, August 10, 2001:

''HELLO" from Jennifer in Springfield, IL.
I just wanted to tell all of you how very much I enjoyed hearing you guys play last night. (8/9) at On Broadway. You guys ROCK!!!!! You are all very talented, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to hear you jam and also meet you and talk with you. My life has been very shall we say "limited and a bit hum-drum" lately, and the one time I got out I was certainly lucky to have the chance to hear your band.

I'm anxious to get my photos back, I will send them to you when I can. I hope I get the opportunity to hear you play again sometime, perhaps in Chicago, if not Springfield. Although I would be willing to travel a ways to hear you again. Mark thought you were great too. We've seen a lot of great big name bands together, and your band would rate right up there along w/Eric Clapton, the Stones, your energy and style are fabulous!!

Keep up the good work, but take it easy, too. We all want you to come back to Springfield again, I would hate to think I would never see any of you again. I can't say enough good things about you, you're a great group of guys! I've told everybody here at the hospital where I work today, what an amazing group of talented musicians they missed.

I've gotta go now, I'm at work.

Love to you, Jennifer

Just wanted you guys to know that a bunch of us here on Long Island (NY) have discovered your album and we really dig it. The original songs are all winners and the "Hotel California" remake rocks! Great tunes - every one! We have a little band here in NYC called "Halie Unlikely" so we are always interested in new reggae music.

I found your CD and wondered what reggae cowboy music would sound like so I took a chance. All I can say is - after hearing it, all the guys in the band had to have a copy of their own. We especially love the way you used the Roland keyboard. You guys really made a great album. Keep up the good work. Regards and RESPECT!

Wanted to thank y'all for the positive vibration we feld in Peoria, Illinois at the Lakeview Museum. We sat up front to the left of your view and watched the little children enjoy the joy of dancing. I was amazed a the wide range of ages there. It is wonderful that so many people came together for the love and joy and positive of last evening. Diversity makes us strong when there is tolerance of individuality and beliefs. I particularly like the way y'all tell the story of the Buffalo Soldiers.

May the Great Spirit bless all your travels!

You guys are great! I just bought "Rock Steady Rodeo" (I had to special order it, damn...) I listen to "Tell the Truth" all the time. I think your "Hotel California" is better than the stinkin' Eagles! Your version is unbelievable! Really good!

I wish people would get to know you much better. I tell everyone I know about you. My chick thinks you're great too.

Are you guys every going to play Denver or Colorado Springs? As good as you guys are you should be more famous than those senior citizens Aerosmith!

Hey, Please do put me on the e-mail list, and I really hope the band is coming this way soon. I've been a deep jazz lover for 30 years and also am into blues and some reggae. The Cowboys have it all and blew my daughter (age 13), wife, and I away in Asheville. They have elements of all these genres plus have their distinctive sound. Great stage presence is another plus. Know from reading of the lives of many jazz musicians who paid their dues ON THE ROAD how tough it can be; really pulling for the Cowboys to hit the jackpot!!!

Any plans for a next CD?

i saw the cowboys at the maritime opening for isreal vibrations. not only did the boys rock the hall hard id go as far as saying they were more energetic than isreal they controlled the crowd better as well. the boys are proffesional, some of the nicest guys you will ever meet, are underrated and talentedfar beyond some of the people out right now. the cowboys are here forever. if you dont have the CDs go and find them.

Reggae Cowboys,
Thanks for the show in Asheville at Bele Chere! Y'all were very impressive both on and off the stage. It was a pleasure meeting you and talking with you about the music and the issues. I'm looking forward to the 3rd album and I hope to see you perform again soon.

From CHRYSSE EVERHART

A series of large and small planned and unplanned disasters has cost me $15-20,000 in the past two months. Tonight I am whooping and hollering with glee. Reggae Cowboys at Bele Chere in Asheville in three weeks! Best news I've had in what feels like a LONG time. Doesn't pay down my debt, but somehow, it's just what I need right now. Haven't seen these guys in two years, but listen to both CD's more frequently than any others in my collection, especially in summer. A real-life fix sounds real good. Thank you for scheduling this event into your lives. I really truly have tears of joy welling up in my eyes, right now and a big ol' lump in my throat!

From Lynn Janicke, June 2000

HOWDY!! I AM SENDING GREAT PRAISES TO THE REGGAE COWBOY POSSE. THE NEW ALBUM ROCK STEADY RODEO IS SOMETHING TO HEAR!! THE VARIEITY OF ORIGINAL SONGS AND IDEAS BEHIND THEIR MUSIC PROVIDE HISTORY AND MEANING TO AN ALWAYS GROOVIN' AND DRIVING SONG. YOUR MUSIC TELLS A STORY WHICH TRANSCENDS THE LISTENER BACK IN TIME TO THE WILD WEST. GERONIMO THE APACHE LIVES ON IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MUSIC, "ALL HE WANTS TO BE IS FREE APACHE." SIMPLE AND THOUGHTFUL ARE THE LYRICS TO THE SONGS THAT ARE REVERENT TO THESE LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST.

THE SONG," REGGAE ON THE RIVER", IS A PARTY FAVORITE. A SONG ABOUT THE SUMMER AND HOW REGGAE MUSIC IS GOOD ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME. BE SURE TO SPIN A COPY OF ROCK STEADY RODEO AT YOUR NEXT BARN DANCE, YOUR BOOTS WILL BE KICKIN' UP SOME DIRT!

GOTTA SAY MUCH RESPECT TO THE REGGAE COWBOYS! SEEING THEM LIVE IS BELIEVING --- THE TORONTO SHOW ON JUNE 2ND WAS SOME POWERFUL GOOD FUN. WE BE FEELIN' IRIE!! ENJOY THE SUMMER TRAVELS COWBOYS!!

Hello to all, Yesterday at work the local radio KTAO of Taos, New Mexico, played Reggae Cowboys - Lightenup! I was jammin in the body shop office. Not a pretty site - 41 yr. old female. But was inspired to swing by Que Pasa records at lunch hour and pick up your Rocksteady Rodeo CD. I have two questions, one, when will we see you in Taos County again? I attended the concert at Red River, New Mexico - too cool! and second question, I remember a song Wild Wild West, or I had too much beer, that you played at the concert. On this CD there is Wild West Indian.

Not the same I'm sure. The record store was out of stock of your other CD so I couldn't compare song titles. Would have bought both CDs. So the question is, is Wild Wild West a valid song title? For info sake, I have a 17year old female daughter, who attended the concert with me. She became a great fan! Now that is an accomplishment! This is a rap listening, bumping, Mariachi performing (Mariachi Questa), trumpet playing, blow up mom's speakers, typical teenage girl. She was blown away when she heard the CD last nite. It is always nice to know you've affected the younger generation. Keep up the great works!

Bueno,
Jeannie Sullivan

As a reggae fan for over 30 years, The Reggae Cowboys are a new genre of Reggae. With all the slackness in reggae and the emergence of dancehall, The Cowboys get back to the Roots. It is totally uplifting, spiritual, and a unique blend of styles. Steel Pulse has come in and out of rootsiness, and quite frankly have carried the torch that belonged to the king of reggae Bob Marley. The Cowboys have the opportunity to continue the comeback of Roots Music. Big up the Cowboys!

From: Jacob Harmon

The Reggae Cowboys are one of the most unique reggae bands out there. I love
Rock Steady Rodeo. I listen to it everyday after school. I cant wait for the
next great album they come out with. This is one of my favorite albums i have
in my collection. Keep the good work up.

One more thing. I think you should put up bass and guitar tabs up on the
website. I would love to learn the bass riffs for the songs.

Sincerely
Jacob Harmon

Finally got my copy of RSR yesterday. Most excellent !!!!! RC has such a truly unique sound --- unlike anyone else. Covering "Like A Rolling Stone" was brilliant. Most groups second effort is usually a disappointment but this is a wonderful CD. My congratulations to Bird and the boys. Hope I can get to see them in person some day. I hope you have great success with the new CD.

Best Regards, Elliot

On 8/17/99, babydog further writes...

You can imagine my surprise when I was in our local library about 6 mos. ago browsing through their CD collection --- had just started to listen to reggae seriously -- mostly Jimmy Cliff and Desmond Dekker --- never really liked Bob Marley or Peter Tosh --- I was just picking out reggae CD's and saw "Tell The Truth" --- brought it home --- and was just listening and heard "Stone Ranger" --- almost fell off the couch ----then I read the liner notes and said ---"Too Much" ---- Bird Bellony huh? That kind of started me on my quest to find out more about RC and every time I played the CD again I got more and more into it. Really loved "Stone Ranger " -- of course ---and Barking Dogs and especially "Hotel California" the absolute best cover of that song I've ever heard. Then after a while I realized what a unique "sound" this was and how the whole CD was absolutely wonderful --- So RC's really turned me on to reggae. Really like UB40 too , but RC's are the best --- in my opinion ----new CD is better and better each time I hear it --- and there is no mistaking Bird's guitar for anyone else. Can't wait until I can see you guys in concert. I hesitate to ask this but if you have a publicity photo of Bird or the group together It would take an honored place on my wall. Growing up -- in the 60's Bob Dylan was my hero so ---"Like A Rolling Stone" was a great song to have covered by my favorite group.

Continued good luck on the tour ----------

All The Best , Elliot

From Porter, 9/13/98:

Much respect to the Reggae Cowboys, whose brand of western Hendrix/Marley reggae twang gave I & I & I a shit-kicking great time in the after concert tavern "Jump-Ups" for two hard-partying nights in a row. A pleasant dose of fun, non-political, sawdust-floor original conscious reggae. A unique new sound!

From bigga

"Greetings! Bob Marley's words "Dem here it, dem love it!" were definitely prolific and very true-true! I love to see Reggae music get an opportunity to be exposed to other and new demographic and/or cultural markets. If presented in the proper manner (good venue, decent sound, with Professional Production and Positive Promotions) then Reggae will win over many new fans, for sure! "
